Beth McKinney, MSEd, RD, CHES, is the Director of the Wellness Program. She received her bachelors degree from Cornell University and her masters degree in health education from SUNY Cortland. In addition, Beth is a certified health education specialist. |

Kerry Howell , M.S., ACSM HFS, is the Assistant Director of the Wellness Program. Kerry uses her knowledge of exercise physiology and nutrition to help improve the lives of not just the wellness members but all of the Cornell University community. Kerry graduated cum laude with a B. S. in Fitness & Cardiac Rehabilitation/Exercise Science from Ithaca College in 1997 earning the Departmental Award for Excellence. She received her Master's degree in Exercise Physiology in 2004. She is a certified Health Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine, a certified Intrinsic Coach through Totally Coached, and she completed a home study course in Nutrition from the Cooper Aerobics Institute. Kerry coaches the beginning triathlon class, manages the Wellness web page, and lectures on and off-campus. In addition, Kerry helps to support the fitness goals of others through offering individual personal training, goal setting, and fitness testing meetings. Christa Albrecht , B.S., ACSM HFS, has degrees in Health Science and Recreation & Leasure Studies with concentrations in Management and Exercise Physiology. She is a certified Health Fitness Specialist with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Christa is certified with the Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) and the Senior Fitness Association (SFA) and recently completed the Wellness Coach Training Program offered by Wellcoaches. Christa supervises the Classes for Healthy Aging offered by the Wellness Program. She also enjoys meeting with faculty, staff, and retirees to set goals and create exercise programs. Ruth Merle-Doyle, M.S., ACSM RCEP. Ruth is the Health/Wellness Specialist for the Wellness Program. She is no stranger to Ithaca and attended Ithaca College from 1994 through 1998, earning a B.S. in Fitness & Cardiac Rehabilitation with a minor in Nutrition Promotion. Ruth is a native of western New York, but recently relocated back to the area from Eugene, Oregon. While in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Ruth completed her Master’s work in Exercise Physiology from the University of Oregon and completed certification as an ACSM Registered Clinic Exercise Physiologist. For the past six years she has worked in patient care as a Cardiac Rehab Therapist. Ruth brings enthusiasm, expertise, and excitement to personal training, goal setting consultations, and fitness appraisals. Additional duties for Ruth include lecturing on various health/fitness topics to diverse groups on campus, facilitating the campus wide Blood Pressure clinic, assisting with events such as the Wellness Fair and Red Day, and assisting with the Walking Club. At home Ruth and her husband, Scott, enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, running, and cooking delicious cuisine. They plan on climbing 46 peaks in the Adirondack Park over the next few years. Greg Borzilleri, M.S., CSCS, NSCA-CPT Greg is the newest member of the Cornell Wellness Team. He graduated from Ithaca College with a B.S. in Clinical Exercise Science in 2008 and completed a master’s degree in Sport Management in 2009. Greg is certified as both a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. At Ithaca College he worked with a variety of personal training clients to help them achieve their fitness goals and develop healthy lifestyles. His main interests in health and fitness include sport specific training and athletic performance enhancement. Greg enjoys working with individuals to tailor an exercise program to meet their specific needs and goals. Personally, Greg is currently pursuing a career as a competitive bodybuilder. Michele Wilbur, RD Michele is a Registered Dietitian. As the Wellness Program's nutritionist, she works with individuals on making healthier food choices without deprivation or restriction. She helps people make choices to fit into their own lifestyle. She is certified in Adult Weight Management and has completed a certification in Medical Botany. Michele is also a certified Personal Chef, so she is great at giving meal ideas, recipe makeovers, and menu planning! Louise Derraugh , BA, B Ed Health and Physical Education, NSCA-CPT, NCCP Canada Level 3 track and field coach. Louise is no stranger to the world of sport as she has competed internationally for her native Canada on track and field teams and has followed her husband Doug (class of ’91) throughout his professional hockey career. She brings her passion for track into working with athletes with dryland training; teaching sprinting and jumping mechanics. Louise and her family arrived in Ithaca in 2005 when Doug took on the position of head coach for Cornell Women’s Hockey. She started working with Wellness in 2006 and has found great pleasure in working with Cornell’s healthy aging population as well as staff and faculty members alike. She especially loves the challenge of designing programs that help recreational athletes train in a sport specific manner. Having lived and traveled extensively throughout Europe, for thirteen years, Louise is always thrilled to meet and work with Cornell’s diverse international population. She, and her husband Doug are thrilled to have settled in Ithaca. They have three children, Lucas, Bridget and Matteas.
