Swim Classes-Open to Wellness Members only

Advanced Swim Class
Looking for a swim class that will really kick start your morning? Try the advanced swim class. This class is for those who regularly swim laps and are wanting a small amount of instruction and group motivation. Crawl is emphasized the most. Plan on covering about 1600 yards per class. The swim classes the Wellness Program offers each year vary in difficulty from Learn To Swim, Basic Swim, Intermediate Swim, up to Advanced swim. Please commit to attending at least six of the eight sessions. Class meets Fridays from 6:00 a.m.-7:00 a.m. Sessions held in the Helen Newman Hall pool. Registration is required. Intermediate Swim Class
Join Coach Robin Dyer for this intermediate level swim class. If you are looking for instruction to improve your swim strokes, try this class. Robin will give you helpful tips to increase your swimming efficiency. This class is also designed to give you a moderate level cardiovascular workout in the pool. Class meets Fridays from 7:15 a.m.-8:00 a.m. Class limited to 15 people. For more information contact Kerry (kk253@cornell.edu).
Basic Swim Class
Are you mostly comfortable in the pool, but want instruction on the crawl, backstroke, breast stroke, and butterfly? In this basic swim class, Robin Dyer, Cornell Men’s Assistant Swim Coach, will provide you with video and chalkboard instruction on these four strokes. Class time is divided into approximately 1/3 instruction and 2/3 swim stroke practice. Plan on covering about 400 yards per class with many breaks for resting and instruction. The swim classes the Wellness Program offers each year vary in difficulty from Learn To Swim, Basic Swim, Intermediate Swim, up to Advanced swim. Please commit to attending at least six of the eight sessions. Class meets Fridays from 7:15 a.m.-8:00 a.m. Sessions held in the Helen Newman Hall pool. Registration is required. Learn To Swim Class
Want to learn how to swim? This class is perfect for you. No experience necessary. This class is for non-swimmers. You will learn to swim while feeling secure in the shallow water. Class meets Fridays from 6:15 a.m.-7:00 a.m. in the Helen Newman pool. Class limited to 12 people. For more information contact Kerry (kk253@cornell.edu).
