Workout Buddy List
The Wellness Program has received lots of feedback from its members about us helping you to make connections with other Wellness Members who share common exercise interests. A few members who I've talked to want a workout buddy but are reluctant to write a blurb because they don't want it to be perceived as a personal ad - no worries - the Wellness Program is not running this as a dating service. We are piloting this service to help people across campus connect. For many it is more enjoyable and motivating to exercise with one or more other people. If you are looking for someone to work out with, and find a good match below, please contact that person directly. Or, if you are interested in submitting a blurb for posting below so that people can contact you, please email it to kk253@cornell.edu and I will post it on this site. Remember when creating the blurb that this site is accessible to anyone using the world wide web.

I am looking for a workout buddy for early morning workouts (6:30 to 7:30) at Helen Newman Hall, Tuesday and Thursday mornings. We can do the elliptical machines next to each other and chat, or just check in with each other and go our separate ways, but keep each other motivated and SHOWING UP to the gym. 4) Other information that might be helpful to know: I'm coming back to work from a back injury that had me laid-up for several months. I've been going to HNH pool regularly and doing physical therapy in the pool while on disability. I walked to Teagle a couple times last week, but I lack the motivation to walk there alone in this oppressive heat! I'd like to find a buddy to walk there from the Vet school together or meet up with after work on a regular schedule. Another woman, or someone who has had back issues is preferred.

4) I want to do some rowing type exercises (I'm hoping to join the Cascadilla learn to row program in July), swimming laps, ellipitical, and strength training. I used to run short distances (1-3 miles) and hope to get back into that; having a running partner to get started would be great. For organized classes, I would love to take a synchronized swim class or yoga for flexibility. I am new to Cornell and the Ithaca area.

Looking for a fellow beginner swimmer(s) to practice with during the designated Family Swim times at either HNH (4:15-5:15) on Saturdays or at Teagle (3-5pm) on Sundays. Your children or grandchildren (those tall enough) are welcome. See pool schedule on Wellness site and click on “family swim only” for privilege details. Other information that might be helpful to know: I’m truly a beginner swimmer. Trying to learn the stroking/breathing process. Took beginning swimming class in October, which was much too short. Need to practice in order to retain what I learned, but feel foolish ‘playing by myself’ in the pool. Am trying to coax my husband (a swimmer) to join me, as well as my daughter and grandson; but none have yet had the time. Hmmmh
